Premier League outfit Arsenal will take on Championship side Hull at the Emirates Stadium in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.
“Hull are flying high in the Championship and playing well,” Barnes wrote on Titanbet.co.uk while predicting a 2-0 win for the home team.
“I think that’s what they’ll be more interested in, with promotion so important, so I expect to see Arsenal go through.”
Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has also backed Arsenal to win against Hull.
“I don’t know what the odds are on it happening, but this is the third season in a row that the clubs have been paired together in the competition including the 2014 Wembley Final; I can’t see past another Gunners’ success,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Neither side wants a draw given they have other end-of-season targets, and I expect to see goals at the Emirates.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Arsenal to win and Both Teams To Score at 13/5.”
Arsenal will be favourites to win against Hull on Saturday afternoon, as they have the better team and also have home advantage.
The Gunners, though, could make changes due to the Champions League tie against Barcelona next week.
This could play into the hands of Hull, who will have nothing to lose at the Emirates and will be able to play with confidence.
Arsenal are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 51 points from 26 matches, just two points behind leaders Leicester City.
Meanwhile, Hull currently find themselves at the top of the Championship table with 60 points from 31 match, two points clear of second-placed Middlesbrough, who have a game in hand.
