Manchester United lost an embarrassing game to FC Midtjylland on Thursday evening.
Manchester United suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of FC Midtjylland on Thursday evening.
Playing away in Denmark, United started their Europa League campaign in poor form.
With them likely needing to win the trophy to get into next season’s Champions League, they struggled to impress, and really should have lost by an even greater margin.
Sergio Romero was the only player who could come out of the game with any sort of praise, having made three fantastic stops, after being pushed into the starting line-up due to an injury suffered by David de Gea in the warmup.
Memphis Depay scored a lucky opener to hand United the lead, but Pione Sisto netted a lovely solo effort less than 10 minutes later to draw the tie level. Nigerian defender Onuachu scored the winner 13 minutes from time, in what could have been a much bigger win for the Danish champions.
It will have been a memorable night for one Red Devil, with Donald Love making his full debut for the club after coming off the bench against Sunderland at the weekend.
Starting at right-back, the 21-year-old struggled, and fans took to Twitter to react to his performance at the end of the embarrassing defeat.

Blind, McNair, Smalling, and Donald Love has to be the worst defensive back four of all time in a #MUFC team.

Donald Love looks the type of player who will be plying his trade in League 2 in a few seasons.
