Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko has suggested to the club’s official website that he has been impressed with Kieran Tierney.
Sviatchenko, who plays as a centre-back, joined Scottish Premiership giants Celtic from FC Midtjylland in the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old Denmark international has been impressed with Kieran Tierney, who is just 18 years of age and plays as a left-back.
“I like the way he plays,” Sviatchenko told Celtic's official website about Tierney. “He’s aggressive, persistent and has a never-give-up attitude. That’s the best attitude to have because I can count on him.
“He is in the same place that I was in my former club in Denmark,” added the Dane. “He’s played here many years since he was a small kid and I played at my previous club from the age of 14 so I can feel that it means something for him and he’s a good guy.
“He’s getting along with everyone and although I’m new and he’s young, it feels like he has been at the senior level for a while. He fits in really well.”
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 58 points from 25 matches.
Ronny Deila’s side are three points clear of Aberdeen, who are currently second and have played a game more.
The Bhoys will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership.
Inverness are sixth in the league table at the moment with 32 points from 24 matches.
Celtic will head into the match on the back of a 2-0 victory over Ross County at home in the league.
