Tottenham will take on Premier League rivals Palace at White Hart Lane in the fifth round of the prestigious cup competition on Sunday afternoon.
Gray has backed the North London outfit to win the tie, and has also claimed that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are capable of winning any of the tournaments they are currently in.
“Everyone is looking at Spurs as title contenders,” the former Scotland international wrote on Paddypower.com. “They’re in so many competitions, so I think they need to decide on what their priorities are.
“I believe Pochettino has the squad capable of winning any of the tournaments they’re still in. I don’t think they’ll go into this game with every one of their big hitters playing.
“Palace’s form is poor, their defeat to Watford was a kick in the teeth and they’ve only got 1 point from the last 18 available. It won’t be a classic, but I think Spurs will sneak it.”
A footnote added: “Andy’s bet – Spurs to win 8/13.”
Tottenham will head into the game against Palace in North London as firm favourites. Not only are Spurs in better form, but Pochettino’s team are also at home and have the better team.
It is quite bold of Gray to claim that the North London outfit are capable of winning of any of the tournaments they are currently in, though.
Winning the Premier League title is certainly achievable, but the Europa League and the FA Cup are going to be tougher. After all, these are knockout tournaments, and a single mistake could cost them dearly.
