Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer picked out Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero as the club's man-of-the-match against FC Midtjylland.
United had taken the lead through a goal from Memphis Depay, but conceded a goal in each half in an uninspiring display.
Romero had only been playing after first choice goalkeeper David de Gea twisted an ankle in a pre match warm up, but impressed with his display, stopping United losing by more.
Shearer praised the Argentine international for his performance, but suggested that the fact he was United's best player was a worrying sign.
United are still in with a shout of progression, with the second leg to be played at Old Trafford, but looking at the bigger picture it is hard to consider Louis van Gaal's team as strong contenders to win the tournament even if they do sneak through to the next round.
