The Gunners were linked with Real Madrid's Karim Benzema throughout the summer transfer window.
The striker has been in impressive form for the Gunners this season, with 18 goals in all competitions, 12 of which have come in the Premier League.
Despite that, there is still an on-going debate about whether the Frenchman is the world-class centre forward that Arsenal’s side need to be genuine title challengers.
Last summer saw them continually linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, but rather than being concerned by that kind of speculation, Giroud insists it only encourages him to do better and prove his worth.
“It helps to motivate you because when you are in your comfort zone, I think you maybe don’t give your best," he told arsenal.com.
"So it helps sometimes to have speculation like that, to prove that you deserve your place in the team.”
"In every single transfer period, there is some other striker’s name coming out as a possible new signing. You have to deal with that and keep focused on the team. You have to give your best and that’s what I tried to do.”
The Gunners will certainly be pleased with how Giroud has performed this season, and will be keen to see him to add more to his collection in the remaining games.
He is their top goalscorer by some distance so far, with his goals having helped them to be title challengers throughout.
With the Premier League title race looking to be one of the closely fought in a number of years, they will be hoping he can add a few more to his tally between now and the end of the season to ensure they finish as champions.
