Michail Antonio explains his West Ham United targets

The winger has been a big part of their success in the Premier League and FA Cup this season.

West Ham United winger Michail Antonio is only focusing on maintaining his first team place and improving for the rest of the season, he has told the club’s official website.

The winger has had a positive start to life at Upton Park this season playing a big role in the success in both the Premier League and the FA Cup.

The Hammers are currently sixth in the league, just a point off fifth, while they are into the fifth round of the FA Cup, in which they will take on Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.

Antonio though, is not interested in setting club targets, instead insisting he is focusing on simply keeping his place in the first team in the coming months.

“For the rest of the season, I just want to keep performing well, try and stay in the team and I’ll probably set more goals for myself next season,” he told whufc.com.

“Right now I’m just focused on staying in the team; keep playing well and try and improving.”

While Antonio is not setting any targets for his club, they must surely be aiming for a place in Europe come the end of the campaign.

It is certainly within their grasp, with a top six place very much up for grabs, while the FA Cup is also more than attainable based on how they have performed this season.

Of the two, the cup would surely be their preferred success, with a last trophy before their move to the Olympic Stadium being eyed as the perfect send off for Upton Park.
