According to The Sun, Everton are preparing an £8m move to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic this summer, as they search for a replacement for Tim Howard.
The Toffees have seen 35-year-old shot stopper Howard struggle throughout the campaign, and there have been suggestions that he could head back to his native United States this summer.
Everton's defence has looked far more solid with Joel Robles between the sticks, and if Howard does depart this summer, manager Roberto Martinez will surely be looking to sign a proven Premier League goalkeeper to take his place.
Now, The Sun report that Everton are prepared to offer £8m to land Chelsea's second choice goalkeeper Asmir Begovic in the summer transfer window.
The Bosnian international - therefore a team-mate of Everton's Muhamed Besic - only joined Chelsea from Stoke City last summer, and was clearly signed as a backup to first choice stopper Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge.
However, the report claims that Begovic is already unhappy at Chelsea, having been immediately dropped from the starting line-up once Courtois returned from a three-month injury, and now wants a summer move away from the Blues in order to play first-team football.
The 28-year-old is a proven Premier League goalkeeper having starred with Stoke City, and would be desperate to make an impact with Everton having sat on the bench at Chelsea recently - but much may depend on whether Everton do decide to part ways with Howard at the end of the season.
