Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is quoted by Sky Sports (17/02/2016, 20:02) as saying that he will give Emmanuel Adebayor a good welcome this weekend.
Spurs take on Fiorentina in the Europa League this evening, and face a busy schedule with an FA Cup tie against Crystal Palace coming up on Sunday afternoon.
With Tottenham competing in three competitions, fans are hoping to see their team win some silverware by the end of the season - and a win against Palace would make them one of the firm favourites to lift the FA Cup.
One of the interesting quirks in the game against Palace is that striker Emmanuel Adebayor will make his first return to White Hart Lane.
The Togolese hitman, 31, hit 43 goals in 113 games for Spurs in over four years at the club, but was frozen out under Mauricio Pochettino, making just five appearances in 2015, before being released from his contract in September.
Now a Palace player, Adebayor will be making his first return to White Hart Lane as an Eagles striker, and will no doubt be looking to exert some revenge on Spurs by dumping them out of the FA Cup.
Pochettino has now been asked about how he will react to Adebayor's return given the belief that the duo had a frosty relationship, but the Spurs boss told Sky Sports that he will be happy to see the former Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid striker on Sunday afternoon.
"We had a nice relationship and we will give him a good welcome at White Hart Lane," said Pochettino, debunking the idea that the pair didn't see eye-to-eye.
Adebayor's time at Spurs was a mixture of great goals and incredible frustration, but having played for the club for four years, Tottenham fans will no doubt give him a great reception at White Hart Lane.
Will you be happy to see Adebayor back at Spurs on Sunday?
