Jamie Vardy has confirmed that a movie on his life is in the pipeline.
Premier League top scorer Jamie Vardy has confirmed to The Sun that a film about his rise to stardom looks set to go ahead, and revealed that he would like former Wimbledon star Viinnie Jones to play him on screen.
The 29-year-old Leicester City and England striker was playing non-league football for Fleetwood Town five years ago,and reports in November suggested that Hollywood screenwriter Adrian Butchart, who wrote the football film 'Goal!', was keen to make a film about the star's exploits.
Thas now claimed that the project looks set to go ahead and revealed that he would like former Wales international Jones to portray him.
He told The Sun: "At the minute, the film does look like it’s probably going to go ahead.
"They must be mad to be honest with you, but want to do it. We’ll have to wait and see, but I’d like Vinnie Jones [to play me]."
The paper claimed that Hollywood stars such as Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron were being considered for the role, but the player himself is pushing for Jones, who made his acting name in the Guy Ritchie films Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
Vardy leads the Premier League scoring charts with 19 goals in 26 matches this season, a tally which included netting in a record 11 consecutive matches.
Leicester are currently two points clear at the top of the table.
