John Collins confirms players will leave Celtic this summer

Players are undoubtedly going to leave Celtic this summer.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Celtic assistant boss John Collins has confirmed that players will be leaving Parkhead in the summer, with Ronny Deila’s squad fairly bloated.

He said: “Come the end of the season there will be players who will move out. But at this moment in time it is a big squad, everyone is fighting to be in the squad and that's a good problem to have for the manager, myself and the coaching team.”

Having just completed the signing of Kristoffer Ajer, with the young Norwegian set to join the club in the summer, Celtic will have a huge pool of players to call upon next term,

The midfielder is especially bloated, with Ajer joining a midfielder that is already too full for Scott Allan and Ryan Christie to get chances. Charlie Mulgrew and James Forrest are out of contract in the summer, and they are expected to sign new deals, meaning Deila will struggle to name a balances starting XI.

To thin down the squad ahead of next season, Collins has confirmed that he and Deila will be assessing the players heading towards the end of the campaign - with plans to get rid of people in the summer.

There are no indications as to who is being lined up for an exit from Parkhead, but Deila will surely look to offload some midfielders to ease the burden on his squad ahead of next season.
