Gary Lineker and Didi Hamann react on Twitter to Liverpool's exhilarating performance

The Match of the Day host was far from entertained as the Reds drew 0-0 in Germany.

If anyone missed Liverpool's 0-0 draw at Augsburg on Thursday night, they didn't really miss much football at all.

Indeed, the bad wrap the Europa League gets wasn't helped much on Thursday, as the Reds slumped to a bore draw in Germany, while the Premier League's other clubs hardly thrilled, either.

The problem with the competition in this case is that a 0-0 draw is more than enough for Liverpool. They didn't concede and, on paper and barring any mishaps, should beat Augsburg at Anfield to progress.

The format, level of opposition and level of travel across the continent hardly encourages entertaining football (although it seems to bring the best out of Gary Neville...).

Gary Lineker's sarcastic reaction on Twitter summed things up for Liverpool...

And former midfielder Dietmar Hamann feels the Merseyside outfit were 'pretty underwhelming.'

Jurgen Klopp must have been bored himself. A 6-0 win at Aston Villa followed by that 0-0 draw... At least Liverpool have the weekend off to recover from their travels!
