Everton boss updates on Oumar Niasse's potential club debut

Roberto Martinez

The Senegalese forward has not yet played for the club.

Everton take on Bournemouth in the FA Cup this weekend and will be hoping to get back on their feet after a drab 1-0 defeat against a very negative West Brom side at Goodison Park last weekend.

That came off the back of three 3-0 wins on the trot and Everton fans will indeed believe the club should get back on winning terms this weekend.

They will also hope to see their big money winter signing in action.

Oumar Niasse cost the club a fee the club confirmed on their official website as £13.5 million from Lokomotiv Moscow this month.

However the Senegalese talent has not yet featured for Everton and has not played since scoring in a Europa League against Skenderbeu on the 10th December.

But speaking in his press conference today Roberto Martinez mentioned that Niasse has a wrist injury and is more likely to feature against Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend:

"Oumar Niasse has a bit of a problem with his wrist. We want to make sure he's fully fit before he plays.

"We will know more in the next 48 hours, but Oumar has an outside chance. If not, I expect him to be ready for Aston Villa."

Niasse is an exciting talent that Everton certainly need to thrive consistently in the Premier League.

His goalscoring and assist record in Russian football is to be feared and Everton fans will be excited to see him in action, albeit likely to be against Aston Villa.
