The 26-year-old Rangers forward is out for 6-8 weeks.
Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn admits he is gutted to be out for six to eight weeks after being ruled out through injury.
However, Waghorn says his recovery process has already begun and he will be back fitter and stronger once he is fit again to play for the Gers.
The forward has stressed the need for hard work and he will no doubt want to get back in among the goals as soon as possible.
Waghorn has netted no less than 20 Rangers goals so far this season, with Jason Holt being their next top scorer on eight.

The 26-year-old will be a big loss for Rangers but Mark Warburton's side are eight points clear of Hibernian in the Scottish Championship.
Hibs, however, do have a game in hand over the Ibrox outfit.
Waghorn has been unfortunate enough to suffer a knee injury, although many others have been ruled out for months thanks to knee problems in recent times.
