Carlos Carvalhal predicts strong end to the season for Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday are currently in fifth place in the Championship table.

Carlos Carvalhal has called on Sheffield Wednesday to remember what he said back in December supporters, when he stressed that his side’s second half of the season would be better than the first.

The Owls are currently in fifth place in the Championship table, but Carvalhal does not believe that his team have hit top gear yet.

The Portuguese boss insists that Wednesday still have improvements to make, and he has backed his side to have a very strong finish to the campaign.

Wednesday took a while to adapt to Carvalhal’s methods in the early part of the campaign, but they have gone from strength to strength as the season has progressed.

The Owls have steadily climbed up the Championship table and they now appear to be one of the leading contenders for promotion.

Wednesday are top of the form table over the last 10 games, having taken 23 points out of the last 30 available to them.

If they continue to win on such a regular basis, then they could have their eyes locked on to claiming an automatic promotion place come May.

Wednesday are currently sat five points behind Middlesbrough, who occupy second spot in the Championship standings.
