Next season could be the one when Tottenham Hotspur's young players really shine.
The phrase The Class of 92 has become synonymous with Manchester United, but could Tottenham Hotspur be about to trademark one of their own?
The Class of 2017 may not have quite the same ring to it but there is no doubt Spurs are on the verge of something great and whatever happens between now and May, next season could be the one when their next generation really shine.
Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Dele Alli are the undeniable jewels in Tottenham’s crown but next season could see the emergence of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Josh Onomah and Harry Winks and the re-emergence of Nabil Bentaleb.
Tottenham will also be buoyed by a return to the Champions League – which is looking all but certain given their current position in the Premier League – and they will be increasingly confident after a campaign that shows no signs of faltering with just three months remaining.
So while the Class of 92 will take some beating, Tottenham are the closest to replicating that level of sparkling youth blending effectively into a first-team unit for years to come.
