Thierry Henry discusses how he would feel if he were Remi Garde

Aston Villa were beaten 6-0 by Liverpool on Sunday.

Thierry Henry says he would be feeling almost useless if he were Aston Villa manager Remi Garde, in comments to Sky Sports, broadcast on February 14th.

The Villains were beaten 6-0 by Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, as the Reds run riot against a hapless Villa side with six different players managing to get on the score sheet.

It was the latest in a long line of disappointing displays from Garde’s side in a campaign that is almost certain to end in relegation to the Championship.

And Henry says if he were Garde he would have felt useless during the loss to Jurgen Klopp’s team and he must be planning for the future already.

“Everything that you have seen [against Liverpool], is exactly what you don’t want from your team,” he told Sky Sports.

“As a manager you are not even upset in the dressing room, it’s just shocking. The performance was shocking.”

“If I was Remi Garde there’s a kind of sense of being useless at one point. Now he must be thinking of next season because they’re going to go down.”

If the Frenchman is planning for the future already, he must surely be concerned by the lack of support he is receiving from the club.

The perfect time to build for the future would have been in the January transfer window; instead they went through without signing a single player, a clear indication that they have seemingly given up.

That will be of huge concern, with the Championship a difficult league to get out of and Villa looking likely to struggle given the players they currently have at their disposal.
