Leeds United drew 0-0 with Middlesbrough on Monday evening.
Cook was selected to start against Boro on Monday night, and he put in an eye-catching display against the Championship promotion chasers.
The 18-year-old showed his creativity throughout the contest, and Evans thought the display was sensational for a player of such tender years.
“People have to realise how young Lewis Cook is,” Evans said. “He was back to something very special.
“I’m just so fortunate to work with the wee man every day. I just love him.”
Evans has admitted that in recent weeks Cook has not been at his sharpest, but the youngster appeared back to his best against Boro.
That will be a boost for Leeds, as despite his inexperience Cook is still one of their most talented and integral players.
Cook is tasked with being solid defensively for the Whites, but he is also expected to be one of their main sources of creativity - which shows just how highly he is regarded by everyone at the Yorkshire club.
Cook’s displays have attracted Premier League interest (Yorkshire Evening Post), but the youngster has always said that he is happy at Elland Road, where he is playing regularly.
