The youngster has left Ibrox for their Scottish Championship rivals.
The 18-year-old recently agreed a two-year contract extension at Ibrox (via Record), but will now follow in the footsteps of Gers teammate Barrie McKay by agreeing a temporary switch to Stark's Park in an attempt to get some first-team experience under his belt.
Hardie has made just four appearances for Mark Warburton's side this season, with his only Championship appearance coincidentally coming in the 5-0 victory over Raith in September.
Rovers boss Ray McKinnon will be hoping that the youngster will be able to help the team claw back the two point gap that currently separates them from Queen of the South, who occupy that final play-off spot in the division.
And Hardie will be hoping that he can make the most of his time away from his parent club so that he proves a point to Warburton that upon his return, he deserves to be given more of a chance in the team.
