Malaga reportedly look to renegotiate the fee they will pay for Derby County midfielder Raul Albentosa - should they choose to sign him on a permanent deal.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Malaga are looking to hold talks with Derby County regarding a potential transfer fee for defender Raul Albentosa.

Last summer, Derby allowed the 27-year-old to return to his homeland after featuring just nine times during the second half of the 2015-16 campaign.

It has been suggested that a fee of €1.2m was agreed between the clubs should Malaga choose to purchase Albentosa on a permanent deal at the end of the season, but it appears that Los Boquerones wish to renegotiate the previous deal.

Malaga's sporting director Francesc Arnau is said to be assessing the options available to the club ahead of next season, and he has identified Albentosa as one of the players he wishes to secure on a permanent basis.

Since moving back to Spain, Albentosa has made 16 appearances in La Liga, with his solitary goal coming during the 2-0 triumph over Celta Vigo on January 2.

He was in and out of the side during the early stages of the season, but since December, he has become a regular starter at La Rosaleda Stadium.
