Report: Liverpool track Dennis Praet ahead of summer transfer window

Liverpool are already targeting players to sign in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool are tracking the availability of Dennis Praet, the Mirror reports.

Having already secured the signing of Joel Matip, who will link up with the Reds in the summer, Jurgen Klopp is looking to find new players to add to his first-team squad for next season.

Praet looks to be that player, and Klopp wants to bring the Anderlecht midfielder to Anfield in the summer.

The report claims that Liverpool were tracking Praet during the January window, but decided against submitting a formal bid for the 21-year-old.

However, they retain their interest in the midfielder, and will assess their status in the summer as to whether they will formalise an offer for him.

Speaking in the report, Praet’s agent has hinted at an exit from Anderlecht this summer.

Jacques Lichtenstein said: “What can he gain by spending one more season at Anderlecht?”

Praet is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in European football, having already played over 150 club games despite being just 21. He has been capped by Belgium’s senior side, and a move to a bigger European league is expected soon.

However, he has struggled recently, and his development has not continued in the way many expected it to when he burst onto the scene as a teenager.

It could be that Praet just needs a change of scenery, and Liverpool are the team who could offer him a route to the Premier League this summer.
