Nottingham Forest midfielder Oliver Burke has expressed his delight on Twitter after he was rewarded with a new long-term contract today.
Burke has signed a deal which will keep him at the City Ground until 2020, after an impressive spell of form for the first-team of late.
Burke has established his place in Dougie Freedman’s preferred starting line-up in recent months, and he is looking forward to the future with the Reds.
Burke has now made 13 appearances for Forest this season, and since the turn of the year he has been one of Freedman’s men’s most dangerous outlets.
The youngster has created plenty of chances for his teammates, while he has notched his first senior goal against Cardiff City back in December.
Burke’s form earned him the Football League’s Young Player of the Month award for January, which was presented to him yesterday.
And Forest chairman Fawal Al-Hasawi was also pleased to have secured his prized prospect’s future.
My congratulations to Oliver Burke, who has earned himself a new long-term deal with #NFFC.— @FAWAZ_ALHASAWI (@fawaz_alhasawi1) February 17, 2016
Burke is the second player Forest have tied down today, after Chris Cohen also signed a new contract with the Reds.
