Nottingham Forest fans react to Oliver Burke's new contract, discuss future transfer

Nottingham Forest winger Oliver Burke has signed a new contract with the club.

Nottingham Forest today confirmed on their official website that young winger Oliver Burke has signed a new contract at the City Ground.

Burke, 18, hails from nearby Melton Mowbray, and has been on the books since 2005, making his way up through the club's ranks ever since joining.

After a loan spell with League One side Bradford City last season, Burke has been in and around the first team at Forest this season, and has shown plenty of potential under manager Dougie Freedman.

A Scotland Under-19 international, winger Burke has notched two goals this season, and whilst most of his appearances have come as substitutes, he has also earned four Championship starts as fans grow more and more impressed with his ability.

We reported last month that Manchester United scouts had been watching Burke ahead of a possible move for him, with some Forest fans a little concerned that they could lose Burke in the near future.

However, Forest today confirmed on their official website that Burke has penned a new four-and-a-half year contract at the City Ground, and fans have been reacting to the news ever since.

Supporters are delighted to see Burke sign a new deal, and are pleased to see the club building a core of young homegrown players, with Ben Osborn and Tyler Walker also developing.

Some fans also looked to the future, suggesting that the new deal will make sure that Forest get a considerable fee for Burke if they ever do look to sell him, rather than allow his contract to run down whilst he develops.

Here are some of the reactions from Nottingham Forest fans after Burke signed his new contract this afternoon...
