Ian Holloway believes Hull City, Burnley, Brighton & Hove Albion, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough will make the Championship play-offs, with Derby County, Birmingham City, Ipswich Town and Cardiff City all also having a chance of being promoted.
Ian Holloway has told Sky Sports that he believes Hull City, Burnley, Brighton & Hove Albion, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough will all finish in the top six of the Championship table this season.
The quintet of clubs are currently occupying the top five spaces in the division, and Holloway does not see any of them falling away.
The former Queens Park Rangers boss then believes that the final play off spot will then be fought out by four teams.
Holloway says that Derby County, Birmingham City, Ipswich Town and Cardiff City all have a chance of claiming sixth spot, but he would not go as far as predicting which team would complete the play off pack.
"I am confident putting Hull, Burnley, Brighton, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough in the top five," the former Queens Park Rangers boss said. "I think Hull will get in the top two, Burnley could easily do it, Boro can't score at the moment but they will be one of the top six.
"Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton will be in there and won't blow up, then you are talking Derby, Birmingham, Ipswich or Cardiff in a scrap for the last place.”
Hull and Middlesbrough currently occupy the top two spaces in the Championship, and look the favourites to claim automatic promotion.
Brighton and Burnley, meanwhile, have been in the upper echelons of the standings for most of the campaign, and they are hot on the heels of the top two.
Wednesday, on the other hand, have come from the lower reaches of the table to stake their claim for a play-off spot, and they are on a wonderful run of form.
Derby currently occupy sixth spot in the table, but they are being caught up by a host of clubs, after going eight games without a victory.
