Hooper joined Wednesday from Norwich City in the January transfer window, and he has netted 10 goals in his last 11 matches.
The former Celtic man is enjoying his best run of form for years, and Carvalhal believes that the system he has devised at Hillsborough is perfectly designed to get the maximum out of the 28-year-old front man.
“It’s not a surprise to me, absolutely,” Carvalhal said. “I must tell you that this is not a surprise.
“He is doing what he likes to do, he is enjoying how we play and is doing goals because he enjoys the way we are playing.
“As I tell you, this is a natural consequence of the dynamic of the team.”
Hooper initially joined Wednesday on loan, and it could have been easy for the Portuguese boss to give up on the striker.
Hooper failed to score in any of his first seven matches for the Owls, but Wednesday stuck by him and they have been rewarded for their faith.
The Yorkshire side have put together a wonderful run of form, and they have progressively climbed up the Championship table.
Wednesday are now in fifth place, and they only have a five point gap to make up on the automatic promotion spaces.
