Video: West Ham midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate returns to training

Ramires Kick - Chelsea v West Ham

The Senegalese midfielder was knocked out cold against Liverpool recently.

West Ham United defeated Liverpool in an FA Cup replay recently, with a late header in extra time from Angelo Ogbonna proving the difference.

The result was not fondly remembered by one West Ham player however.

Senegalese midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate was knocked unconscious in a sickening clash of heads with Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan.

The midfield general needed hospital treatment for the incident and was immediately ruled out of the weekend Premier League fixture with Norwich City.

Hopefully he will be back fit and firing for the FA Cup tie with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Sunday and he certainly looks like it in training.

West Ham posted this video on their official Twitter account today - showing the midfielder looking sharp in training as he shakes off the ill-effects of being knocked out cold:

Kouyate has been an ever-present in the West Ham team since joining the club from Belgian outfit Anderlecht and his presence will be wanted against Blackburn - even if it is a cup game v Championship opponents.

So hopefully he can continue to recover sufficiently to get the all clear for the FA Cup tie this weekend.
