The two sides meet in the Champions League last 16 next week.
The Gunners take on last year’s champions on Wednesday evening, having once again drawn the Catalan side in the last 16 of the competition.
They have not enjoyed much success against the La Liga champions in the competition though, having only managed one victory in their seven meetings so far.
That came back in 2011, the last time they met, when goals from Robin Van Persie and Andrei Arshavin gave them a 2-1 victory at the Emirates.
And Wenger has called on his side to remember that success when they meet again next week.
"We suffered in the first half and in the second half we slowly came back into the game and became very dangerous,” he recalled to arsenal.com.
"That should help us in our [upcoming] game against Barcelona. If we have uncomfortable moments then we should have in our minds that we can still win even if it is difficult.
“It was really special [to win in 2011]. What I also remember as well is that it reminded me of how football is really as a team because you can deliver something exceptional.”
This latest clash is sure to be a difficult one for Wenger’s men given how impressive the Catalans have been once again this season.
Any success for Arsenal will be reliant upon their defence, which has been outstanding this season and enjoyed the second best defensive record in the Premier League behind Tottenham Hotspur.
They are yet to come up against an attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar’s caliber though and it will be interesting to see how the Gunners hold up against that world-class trio.
