The Celtic captain rates his former and current goal-getter very highly.
Celtic's title hunt is certainly being carried in some way by the impressive form of striker Leigh Griffiths.
The Scotland international scored again at the weekend against Ross County to take his tally to 30 goals for the season for the club.
With a good portion of the campaign to go Griffiths might be hoping to net 40 for the season.
Celtic have had plenty of top strikers in recent times, with Gary Hooper another.
"He (Griffiths) get's that ball on his left foot and 30-40 yards from goal and I fancy him to score.
"He is a threat and it is always on the defender's mind as well. It is great to have someone who can score 30-40 goals a season for you. It is very hard to find these days.
"Finishing wise, both feet, he is probably the best I have played with. Him and Gary Hooper - if you could combine the two of them together and that would be a £35 million striker."
He is perhaps referring to the fact Hooper is better on his right foot, Griffiths on his left, but the Sheffield Wednesday loanee also has Griffiths for strength.
Hooper himself is in great form at the moment. He is currently at in form Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship after joining from Norwich City, initially on loan and eventually permanently, and has been scoring plenty of goals. He has 10 goals in 18 appearances for Wednesday - helping them climb up into automatic promotion contention in recent weeks.
Would a combination of the two be worth £35 million? Who knows. But between them they have 40 goals in 56 games this season.
Celtic fans must wish they could partner the pair right now.
