The Dutchman scored a brace v Feyenoord at the weekend.
His time at Forest was not productive. He scored no goals in 14 appearances for the club.
However, at the weekend the Dutch forward was on fire. He netted two goals against Feyenoord at the weekend in a 3-1 win for the club.
The brace saw him take his tally to an impressive 11 goals from 22 games this season for the Dutch side.
With that in mind there is certainly plenty of discussion on Twitter regarding his future.
Forest are not blessed in the striker department for next season. Nelson Oliveira is heading back to Benfica whilst Britt Assombalonga and Matty Fryatt continue to struggle with long-term injuries. Dexter Blackstock is an increasingly limited option and Tyler Walker still an unproven commodity.
New faces are likely to arrive but Veldwijk is contracted at Forest until 2017 and the club could give him another chance at the City Ground.
On Twitter views are mixed. Many would like to see him get a chance. Others believe he is scoring goals in a sub-par league in the Eredivisie and he would not prove a hit in Forest.
Here is some of the best reaction to his brace on Twitter...
