Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman raves about Ben Osborn

The talented midfielder has been excellent for Forest this season.

This week saw Nottingham Forest youngster Ben Osborn receive special recognition for his performances this month by being awarded the Football League Young Player of the month award for January.

He follows in the footsteps of Dele Alli, Wilfried Zaha and Victor Moses in winning this award and will be hoping to carry on his good form in the weeks and months to come in a Forest shirt.

His manager Dougie Freedman is not holding back in his praise for the player.

He told the BBC just how impressed he has been with the performances of Osborn for Forest this season.

The Scottish manager stated:

"Ben's contribution has been fantastic...

"Ben has many, many assets but his main ones are his energy and wonderful left foot. He has a good passing range, a good temperament and has changed his off-the-field activities in terms of how he prepares and how he looks and studies the game.

"He has bought into a training regime that is very intensive, so is getting stronger.

"He is really coming on. He works hard every day and that attribute will get you places. He has a big future; he is an exceptional talent."

Osborn struggled with injury and illness in the early part of the current season and despite not being seen as a regular first-team fixture his reemergence and Forest's current form perhaps suggests that the club were indeed missing Osborn.

Osborn has become a regular at Forest in recent weeks and along with Oliver Burke is a big boost to the youth team at the City Ground.

Hopefully he can continue to impress.
