The German is much more likely to buy players suited to his style.
Liverpool romped to a fantastic 6-0 win at Aston Villa at the weekend, although the Villa performance certainly helped them on their way.
At times under Jurgen Klopp Liverpool have looked magnificent - on other occasions they have lacked consistency and have struggled to find their best form.
In the summer that will hopefully being to change.
The charismatic German is likely to have a chance at bringing in some of his own faces at Anfield to play his style in the Premier League.
However, former Liverpool star Jason McAteer believes that Liverpool fans should not expect to see big names arrive at the club in the summer.
Speaking to the Irish Post at the weekend the former Liverpool utility star stated:
"There is a ruthless streak to him, too. It took him three years to get Dortmund where they were. He didn’t have a great budget there but he knew exactly the players that could fit his philosophy, and I don’t think he’s in the market for the big names, he’s looking for players who can do what he wants.
"He will gradually turn it around, if it’s in 18 months’ time, then so be it. A lot of the fans – 99 per cent of them – are behind him, he’s lost a few because of what’s going on at the minute, but it’s a process that was always going to happen.
"It’s another man’s squad, he wasn’t brought in to instantly win the Premier League, he’s there for the long haul.”
Indeed some of Klopp's best signings in the past have been unknown quantities who have gone on to perform excellently for Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
If he can unearth his own Lewandowski's and Gundogan's at Anfield than Liverpool could be in line for an exciting time under their new manager.
Just don't expect big names from the start.
