It says a lot when the opposition manager comes out of beating your team 6-0 looking better than your players.
After Aston Villa's six-goal hiding at the hands of Liverpool, however, away boss Jurgen Klopp did exactly that.
Not only did the German make extremely respectful comments to Villa (that would have endeared him to fans more than anything most of their players have done this season), an adorable photo of him hugging the Villa mascot also brought smiles to faces.
Following Liverpool's 6-0 win, Klopp told reporters:
Jurgen Klopp: "This is not a day for us to sing songs - that's partly out of respect for Aston Villa, a great club having a difficult time."— Tony Barrett (@TonyBarretTimes) February 14, 2016
It was something Villa and Liverpool supporters both appreciated and respected in equal measure. Neutrals, too.
But a Premier League manager who hugs mascots with such a big smile? Even more brownie points for the German at Villa Park.
Sadly, it doesn't look as though the Reds will be visiting Aston Villa next season. You never know, though, maybe in one of the cups...
