Stan Collymore has criticised Aston Villa defender Jores Okore on Boylesports.com.
The former Villa striker was not impressed with the 23-year-old centre-back’s performance against Liverpool at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
“A team full of sub-standard players who hide, who are more concerned with talking about playing Champions League football (Jores Okore, that’s you, the guy who ducked like a 6 year old at a cross),” Collymore wrote on Boylesports.com while reflecting on Villa’s 6-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Okore started the Premier League game against Liverpool and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The Denmark international defender had a pass accuracy of 75%, attempted one dribble, won 67% of his tackles, and made three interceptions, eight clearances and two blocks.
It was one of the former Nordsjaelland defender’s worst performances for Villa, who look doomed for relegation to the Championship.
Perhaps Collymore is being too harsh on Okore, but there can be no denial that the defender has been hugely disappointing so far this season.
In 10 Premier League appearances for Villa so far this campaign, Okore has a pass accuracy of 83%, and has won 18 headers, three dribbles and 13 tackles.
