Forestieri was one of Carvalhal’s first signings at Hillsborough, and the attacking midfielder has been very impressed by the Portuguese boss’s style.
Although Wednesday are plying their trade in the second tier, Forestieri has revealed that he wants his side to replicate the performances put in by the likes of Barcelona.
"Carlos says go to the pitch and play, but we train every single day," the Argentine forward said.
“If someone lost the ball, me, Hooper, Nuhiu or someone is quick to get the ball back. We do this in training.
“I have never seen a coach in the Championship who has such big ideas, a big mentality, because he thinks about Barcelona, Manchester City, big clubs.
“Look at Barcelona, they lose the ball, it doesn’t matter if it’s Messi, Neymar, everyone presses.
“We follow this idea, and now I think we are doing well, we need to carry on.”
It took a while for Wednesday’s squad to adapt to Carvalhal’s managerial style, but they have progressed hugely under his stewardship now.
The Owls have been in wonderful form since September, and they have steadily kept climbing up the Championship standings.
Wednesday are now in fifth place in the table, and they are only four points away from the automatic promotion spots.
Carvalhal’s side won 4-0 against Brentford in their most recent outing, and their next match comes against Preston North End on Saturday.
