Queens Park Rangers were beaten 3-1 by Fulham on Saturday.

Sebastian Polter has apologised for his performance during Queens Park Rangers’ match against Fulham on Twitter.

QPR were beaten 3-1 by their London rivals in a match where they failed to show their best form.

Rangers were outplayed by the Cottagers, and Polter had little influence on the match - despite being selected to start up-front.

The powerful striker has scored fairly frequently of late, but he felt the need to say sorry for his poor performance on social media.

Polter was selected to start on Saturday, ahead of QPR’s most expensive addition in the January transfer window, Conor Washington.

The former Peterborough United striker has so far generally been utilised as a substitute at Loftus Road, but he could be in line to start the R’s next match - with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink still searching for the winning formula.

QPR’s loss to Fulham has ended a five game unbeaten streak, and seen them slip down into 14th place in the Championship table.
