Rio Ferdinand and Gary Lineker react on Twitter to Tottenham Hotspur's win over Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium earlier today.

Rio Ferdinand has hailed Tottenham Hotspur, after they beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium earlier today.

Spurs’ win over City was arguably the biggest victory of their season so far, and it has confirmed their status as title contenders.

The Lilywhites are only two points behind top of the table Leicester City, and Ferdinand believes that they may be the team to watch.

Tottenham’s win over City was highly impressive, as they had to show their resolve to claim the three points.

Spurs took the lead when Harry Kane blasted home a penalty, but they were dealt a set-back when Kelechi Iheanacho netted an equaliser.

At that point Tottenham could have crumbled, but they stood firm and were rewarded for their spirit when Erik Lamela set-up Christian Eriksen to score the winner.

Tottenham are now unbeaten in 12 Premier League away matches, and Gary Lineker, who used to play for both Spurs and Leicester, could not be happier with how this season is panning out.
