Here is how we predict Manchester United will line up for their first Europa League game of the season.
Manchester United travel to Denmark later this week to take on FC Midtjylland in the last-32 of the Europa League, with manager Louis van Gaal’s future looking likely to be defined by how well his side do in the competition.
United may be struggling domestically but they could still qualify for next season’s Champions League, with the winners of the Europa League now guaranteed a place in that elite competition.
United are now battling on this front after their failure to qualify from what appeared to be a relatively easy Champions League group so van Gaal has a lot of work to do if he is to keep his job beyond May.
In early team news, United are without Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young, while Phil Jones, Adnan Januzaj and Guillermo Varela are all major doubts.
Other sides may played weakened teams in this competition but given its importance to United’s season expect van Gaal to go strong from the outset...or at least as strong as he can given the injury problems at Old Trafford right now.
