Leicester currently lead the Premier League, but Merson fears that their wonderful run of form could work against them.
The former Arsenal midfielder believes that some teams will now travel to the King Power Stadium simply looking to protect a point, and he says that could prove problematic.
"A point at Leicester now is seen as a massive result," he said. "Six months ago, a result at Leicester, you’d want to go there and win. And that’s what worries me - it’s will they be able to break teams down on a consistent basis."
Leicester have generally played on the counter this season, using the pace of Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy to great effect.
Almost every opponent they have faced has been eager to try to play on the front foot, and Leicester have exploited the gaps they have left at the back time and again.
However, when presented with the task of breaking down a team packing men behind the ball it remains to be seen how Ranieri’s side will cope.
Leicester’s lead at the top of the Premier League was cut down to two points after they lost to Arsenal yesterday, and they will be under pressure to bounce straight back against Norwich City in their next league match.
