Kristoffer Ajer confirms Celtic medical, says move is dream come true

Kristoffer Ajer is excited to be signing for Celtic.

Norwegian wonderkid Kristoffer Ajer has confirmed he is on the brink of sealing a move to Celtic.

Ajer was speaking to Norweigian television station TV2 at a training camp in Portugal, with running the quotes online.

He said: "Yes, I travel down tomorrow and clubs have agreed. So we will look at my appointment and do the medical test. It is amazing for me."

Ajer, 17, is the latest bright talent to emerge from Norway, with Real Madrid's Martin Odegaard and West Ham's Martin Samuelsen other notable talents.

He currently plays for Norwegian top flight side Start, and will remain with them until the summer, with the Scottish transfer window officially closed.

Ajer underwent a trial with Celtic in January and evidently did enough to earn a switch.

Elaborating further on the switch, Ajer said: "It's a big dream I've trained for all my life that can come true. We got a good deal which approves that I play in Start until the summer."

Ajer will link up with fellow Norwegian, Celtic boss Ronny Deila, who played a key role in singing the youngster. The backing from the board to help the manager get his man is further indication he board intend on backing Deila despite disappointing results this season.
