The former Liverpool midfielder has been discussing the 26-year-old striker.
Jamie Redknapp believes Liverpool must 'enjoy' Daniel Sturridge while they can, according to his regular column for the Daily Mail.
Indeed, the England and Liverpool forward has been injured for most of the season but made a rare start against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
Sturridge duly scored and the Anfield outfit left Villa Park 6-0 winners.
But the pundit told the Mail: "When Daniel Sturridge plays, Liverpool are a completely different team. He is the difference between the top four and mid-table. He’s that good. The trouble is, you know you’re not going to get 50-odd games out of him a season.
"He has had to take some stick over his injury record but I’ve never met a player who doesn’t want to be out on the pitch. So Liverpool have to enjoy him when they can."
Sturridge's performance against Aston Villa was superb - as was the rest of the rest of the Liverpool side's.
Admittedly, Villa were beyond awful. The Reds' form, however, was impressive and a very timely boost indeed ahead of the Capital One Cup final against Manchester City later this month.
Should Sturridge stay fit for that clash, Jurgen Klopp's men will enjoy a massive boost at Wembley.
But, as Redknapp says, the 26-year-old is a very frustrating presence for Liverpool supporters. He is a brilliant, world-class finisher... who just can't seem to stay fit.
