Celtic fans want Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts starting for the first team as soon as possible.

Celtic loan signing Patrick Roberts sent a firm message to first team manager to Ronny Deila last night: Pick me for the first team.

Roberts was picked for the under-20 side for a match against Dunfermline, and made an instant impact, scoring twice in the first half and creating another.

The winger is on an 18 month loan from Manchester City, and featured for 75 minutes of the development side fixture.

With Roberts at their disposal for a year and a half, Celtic are not rushing him, but Roberts' display last night suggested the former Fulham man cannot be held back any longer.

Despite topping the table, Celtic are failing to get fans excited with their displays, and the 19-year-old might be just the player to change this.

This was his second game for the development squad, and he has three goals in those matches as well as a handful of assists, showing he looks too good to play much more for the team.

Fans reacted on Twitter with excitement to his performance, hoping to soon see Roberts starting for the first team...
