Villa boss Remi Garde explains why Gabby Agbonlahor came off against Liverpool

Aston Villa had a day to forget when they came up against Liverpool on Sunday.

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has been speaking to the club’s official website following his side’s humiliating 6-0 defeat to Liverpool this weekend.

Villa started the match eight points clear of Premier League safety but boosted by their recent victory against Norwich City.

However, the Reds wasted little time getting on top in the match and by the end of the encounter Villa were well and truly humbled.

One player who failed to inspire his side to victory was forward Gabby Agbonlahor who was replaced shortly before the hour-mark by Scott Sinclair, and Garde has since explained why he made the change.

“I don’t know the extent exactly,” the Frenchman told avfc.co.uk. “I have been told he is suffering with vertigo.

“He didn’t feel well. He has a headache.”

None of Villa’s players are likely to be feeling well this evening after suffering such a heavy defeat and all but the most optimistic of their fans will now feel they are destined for at least a year in the second tier of English football.

After all, how on earth do they come back from this in the 12 games remaining?
