The Gunners take on the league leaders at the Emirates on Sunday in a huge title clash.
The Gunners host Claudio Ranieri’s side at the Emirates on Sunday, in what is now a crucial clash for both sides' title hopes.
The Foxes are currently five points clear at the top of the table, with last weekend’s 3-1 win over Manchester City having now made them favourites in the title race.
And Gilberto Silva says his old club must employ a defensive mind-set to secure all three points in what could be a season defining game for both sides.
“It’s important for Arsenal to have a very defensive mind considering what Leicester can do,” he told 888 Sport.
“They must mark well throughout the whole field from the guys up front to the midfield protecting the back four.
“They must close the space because we all know what a great job Vardy has done this season. That starts from the front and it is important to be organised as a team.”
With defensive solidity in mind, it will be interesting to see how Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger approaches the game in regards to his team selection.
His biggest issue will be whether to pick Per Mertesacker or Gabriel Paulista alongside Laurent Koscielny in the heart of the defence, with many predicting the German would struggle against the Foxes' pace up front.
Similarly, he must decide whether to bring back Francis Coquelin into midfield, with his defensive nous likely to be key in taming the likes of N’Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater.
