Report explains what Arsene Wenger has told Arsenal scouts about N'Golo Kante

Leicester City - King Power Stadium

Arsene Wenger is reportedly lining up a move for Leicester City's N'Golo Kante.

According to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told the club's scouts to keep a close eye on Leicester midfielder N'Golo Kante for the rest of the season.

Arsenal meet Leicester at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon, in a game which could have a huge bearing on the Premier League title race.

Now, it's suggested by The Mirror that Arsenal boss Wenger wants to watch Kante's display as something of an audition ahead of a possible summer bid from the Gunners.

The French midfielder, 24, joined Leicester from Caen last summer, and few could have expected him to have such a superb first season in the Premier League.

Kante has been sensational in terms of tackles and interceptions this season, whilst also providing the attacking drive that Leicester need through the middle of the park as a truly exceptional box-to-box midfield player.

Having impressed so much this season, it seemed almost inevitable that Premier League rivals would look to prise Kante away from the King Power Stadium at the end of the season, even if league leaders Leicester do win the Premier League title.

With Arsenal still searching for a midfielder even after the arrival of Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny in January, Kante would be a smart choice - and it's stated that manager Wenger has told his scouts to keep a very close eye on Kante's performances for the rest of the season ahead of a possible summer bid from the Gunners.
