Aston Villa were beaten 6-0 by Liverpool in front of their own fans earlier today.
Ian Taylor says that he has never seen anything as bad as Aston Villa’s performance against Liverpool.
Villa were beaten 6-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s side on Sunday afternoon, in what was a humiliating defeat in front of their own fans.
The Claret and Blues showed a lack of heart and desire throughout the match, as Liverpool ran amok.
And Taylor has slammed his former side’s display on social media site Twitter.
Talking as a fan.....this is bad. Really bad. I've never seen anything like this.— Ian Taylor (@IanTaylor7) February 14, 2016
Gary Lineker took a less serious approach after seeing Villa hammered by Liverpool.
The Match of the Day presenter was keen to lighten the mood, by joking that Villa may have a chance of emulating Leicester City’s rise next season.
Don't worry too much Villa fans, this time next year you could be top of the @premierleague— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) February 14, 2016
Of course, to replicate Leicester’s climb to the top of the Premier League table, Villa will need to remain in the top flight, which looks seriously unlikely with time running out.
The Midlands outfit are now eight points adrift of safety, and Trevor Sinclair believes that the problems started when they sacked Tim Sherwood.
Glad sacking Tim Sherwood worked out well for Villa— Trevor Sinclair (@trevor8sinclair) February 14, 2016
