David Moyes has told Sky Sports programme Goals on Sunday, which was broadcast on 14 February, that Wahbi Khazri will be a good addition for Sunderland.
Khazri was brought to Sunderland from Bordeaux in the January transfer window and he has made a big impression already.
The Tunisian international seems to have settled into life in English football very quickly and he played in influential role as Sunderland beat Manchester United on Saturday.
Khazri scored and claimed an assist as Sunderland beat United 2-1 at the Stadium of Light and Moyes believes the attacking midfielder will have an excellent impact on Wearside.
“I used to go and watch Bordeaux quite a lot and I watched Khazri play,” Moyes said. “He’s a really good player. I think he’s a good singing for Sam.
“You never know how these signings will work out in January, but I think Sam had to take a gamble.”
Khazri was one of four January signings for Sunderland and the quartet have all made positives starts in the North East.
Jan Kirchhoff has looked excellent in a defensive midfield role, Dame N’Doye has added another outlet up front and Lamine Kone has been sensational at the back.
Sunderland’s win over United has moved them to within one point of safety, with their next match coming against West Ham United in two weekends’ time.
