Charlie Austin reacts on Twitter to Michael Doughty's brace for Swindon

The Southampton striker was full of praise for the Queens Park Rangers loanee.

Southampton forward Charlie Austin took to Twitter on Saturday evening to congratulate on-loan QPR man Michael Doughty.

Indeed, Doughty netted twice for Swindon Town and Austin, formerly of QPR, took to social media to give him a virtual pat on the back.

Austin left the R's for Southampton in January, while Doughty also left Loftus Road on loan during the winter transfer window.

Could QPR do with Doughty back?

To add insult to injury, while the 23-year-old was scoring for Swindown, the R's were being thrashed 3-1 at home by Fulham.

There are massive problems with the first team in west London and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has his hands full when it comes to trying to sort the Loftus Road club out.

Austin, meanwhile, has made a bright start to life at Southampton but will have to wait for his chance to make a regular impact at St Mary's.

The Saints faithful, though, appear frustrated with Graziano Pelle, meaning the 26-year-old could get an opportunity to start in his place soon.
