Reports: West Ham star Cheikhou Kouyate joins Payet in agreeing new contract, details emerge

West Ham ace Cheikhou Kouyate has reportedly agreed a new contract with the club.

According to the Daily Mirror and The Sun, West Ham United midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate has agreed a new deal with the club.

The Hammers have already enjoyed a great week, having beaten Liverpool 2-1 in the FA Cup on Tuesday night, before star man Dimitri Payet agreed a new contract to stay at Upton Park.

With the move to the Olympic Stadium on the horizon, West Ham will be hoping to get most of their important players tied down to new deals - and another player appears to be following Payet's lead in committing his future to the Hammers.

The Mirror and The Sun both report that midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate has agreed to pen a new contract with Slaven Bilic's men having starred since joining from Anderlecht in the summer of 2014.

The 26-year-old Senegal international has produced some dominant displays in the middle of the park, whilst he's even filled in admirably at centre back when needed.

Now, it's suggested that Kouyate is joining in Payet in signing a new deal, but there is some confusion in the details currently emerging, as The Mirror suggest the deal is for four more years, whereas The Sun claim the contract on offer is for a whopping six years.

Either way, it seems that West Ham can count on Kouyate for years to come, and fans will certainly be pleased with that he is staying ahead of the club's move to the Olympic Stadium.
