Burnley are poised to sign former Watford winger Lloyd Dyer on a short-term deal, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Dyer is currently a free agent after cancelling his contract early at Watford earlier this month by mutual consent.
The 33-year-old never made a for Watford this season and with the winger well down the pecking order in Quique Sanchez Flores' plans they were willing to let him leave Vicarage Road.
Dyer spent the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham City, making 19 appearances during his stint at St Andrew's.
A number of Championship clubs are thought to have expressed an interest in Dyer, but Burnley have moved quickly to agree a deal for West Bromwich Albion trainee.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche is thought to be an admirer of Dyer and he sees him as a key addition to his side as they look to win promotion back to the Premier League.
Dyer has a wealth of experience having made over 200 appearances in the Championship and he has won promotion with Watford and Leicester City in the last two season.
Dyer is expected to sign a short-term deal until the end of the season at Turf Moor.
