Arsenal will face Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Paul Merson has suggested in The Daily Star that Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin should mark Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

Arsenal will take on Leicester at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Sunday afternoon.

Bellerin is likely to start for the Gunners at right-back, while Vardy will be the main striker for the Foxes.

Former Arsenal attacker Merson believes that manager Arsene Wenger should assign Bellerin with the task of marking Vardy during the Premier League game.

“Arsenal should man mark Jamie Vardy with Hector Bellerin tomorrow,” the former England international wrote in The Daily Star. “If they don’t do something to stop Leicester then they will hit Vardy on the break and he will be too quick for Per Mertesacker or Laurent Koscielny.

“I would put Bellerin on him man for man because he’s got the pace to stay with him. Riyad Mahrez is a good player but his strength is in providing for Vardy. Take that away and you can stop them.”

Bellerin, who is just 20 years of age, has been arguably the best right-back in the Premier League this season.

The Spain Under-21 international has created 13 chances in 23 Premier League appearances for Arsenal.

The youngster has a pass accuracy of 85% and a shot accuracy of 33%, and has won 25 headers, 35 dribbles and 32 tackles.

Vardy has been truly sensational for Leicester this campaign, and has scored 18 goals and created 30 chances in 25 league matches.

The England international striker has a pass accuracy of 65% and a shot accuracy of 58%, and has won 71 headers, 23 dribbles and 22 tackles.
